Helichrysum
More commonly known as “immortelle”, Helichrysum is frequently used in recovery blends for skin, muscles and joints. Helichrysum dates back to at least 7th century BCE where it was used to adorn statues. The name Helichrysum is derived from Helios, the Greek sun god, and chrysos, meaning gold. We can only assume the ancients had much respect for this plant.
Historically helichrysum was used as a joint protectant and topical antiseptic for wounds. It is one of most potent, antioxidant-rich essential oils and is known for its anti-aging effects on the skin.
