Vetiver
With a difficult Latin name to pronounce, vetiver is one of the many types of grass in the Poaceae family alongside wheat, oat, rye, bamboo, sweetgrass, millet, & teff to name a few. A tropical grass native to Indonesia, it has been used aromatically as early as the 12th century to uplift and relax. In Ayurvedic medicine, it has been widely used to treat UTIs, acne, rashes, and even vomiting. When the rhizomes are harvested, the grass is cut first and woven into fans & mats used to repel insects.
